Parenting To Prevent Bullying (99077)R
For presenting to parents of children and teens ages 7-14
There is a difference in power between a bully and a target, and parents need to know what that difference is. Most parents experienced bullying in some way when they were children -- but until recently, many adults saw bullying as an inevitable and harmless part of growing up. Parents need to learn that bullying is a form of violence, and it creates a climate of fear and intimidation in schools that acts as a barrier to learning.
This community outreach and mobilization tool motivates parents to take an active role in the prevention of bullying. Parents learn how to teach their children to really care about others -- and treat everyone with respect. They learn how to help their children have high self-esteem, which can reduce the child's risk of being a victim. And they learn how to effectively respond if they find out their child is either a victim or a bully.
This presentation will let you quickly and easily educate parents on:
- what bullying is
- key social skills that can help prevent bullying
- signs to watch for that might indicate that a child is being bullied
- what to do if their child is being bullied or is bullying others.
Package also includes 25 copies each of these Classic illustrated booklets:
"You, Your Child And Violence" (49924)A
"About Bullying" (49973)A
